Import Controls

Certain products brought into the UK are subject to controls at the point of entry. These controls are in place to protect animal and public health. In essence, food must be safe to eat, and this means all processes within the food chain, including animal feed, food, and food contact materials.

Our Official Veterinarians and Port Health Officers carry our checks at the port to ensure all imported food and feed, and food contact materials comply with current UK regulations.

Click on the drop down menu to find out whether your import is subject to specific controls at the port, or contact us for more information.
